HIGH STAKES TESTING
CONFERENCE FOLLOW-UP

On November 15 and 16, 2002, educators, educational policymakers, and educational researchers from across the country and beyond met to discuss the difficulties deaf and hard of hearing students experience trying to pass high stakes tests. A wide range of perspectives was presented on the likely impact high stakes tests will have on deaf and hard of hearing students, their schools, and their families. These web pages will be used to continue the discussion and perhaps further the creation of more equitable assessments of these students' abilities, including the use of alternative tests and multiple measures.
