[Note: The Stanford Achievement Test (SAT) is usually given to children in Kindergarten through 12th grade and is produced by Harcourt Educational Measurements (http://www.hemweb.com/). It is unrelated to the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), produced by the Educational Testing Service (http://www.collegeboard.com/ and http://www.ets.org/) which is typically given to high school juniors and seniors, as a predictor of college performance.]
The Gallaudet Research Institute has normed the Stanford Achievement Test to be used with deaf and hard of hearing students for over 20 years. The goal of the most recent norming project was to compute norms on a sample that adequately represented the population of approximately 61,000 deaf and hard of hearing students who receive special education services in schools throughout the 50 United States. Funding for this project was provided by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Programs (Grant Number H023C40030-95). Testing materials and scoring service were provided by The Psychological Corporation.
