Psychologist Credential Requirements

This page, still under development, will hold information related to several careers in psychology, such as School Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, and Psychologist licensed for private practice.

[*] Information on Licensure APA's Practice Directorate site. They suggest you direct information requests specific to a particular state to that state's licensing board and/or state psychological association. Their document contains the contact addresses and telephone numbers for these organizations, as well as other valuable information.

[*] Licensure as a Psychologist. Site of the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB). Includes links to a description of the licensing exam and to passing scores by province and state.

[*] Entry Requirements for the Professional Practice of Psychology Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB).

[*] Description of the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP) developed by the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB). Their statement regarding nonstandard administration is: "The EPPP is administered under standardized conditions in accordance with procedures described in a test administration manual distributed to each board. Candidates with documented disabilities or impairments who wish to be tested under nonstandard conditions should notify their respective boards in accordance with published deadlines so that the boards will have ample time to evaluate their requests and make any special arrangements that may be required for the test administration." April and September/October exam dates are listed for each year 1997 though 2005.

[*] Publications for the Students of Today and the Practitioners of Tomorrow by the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB). Includes "Handbook of Licensing and Certification Requirements" and "Items from Previous Examinations."
